The ACC named Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris the Offensive Back of the Week on Monday. Harris completed 14 of his 20 pass attempts in Saturday’s 49-14 win over Duke, accumulating 202 yards and throwing three touchdown passes. He did not throw an interception, and for the second week in a row completed 70% of his passes. Harris came away with a 204.3 quarterback rating, the fourth-highest of his career.
Harris has passed for 1,757 yards so far this year–36 yards shy of his 2010 total. He’s on track for the best quarterback rating of his career at 166.1, and his 18-4 touchdown-interception ratio is his best yet. By all accounts and by examining his statistics over the course of his career, Harris is having his best season in the 2011 campaign.
Tyler Horn was also bestowed with ACC honors on Monday. He was named the conference’s Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week with Virginia’s Austin Pasztor. Led by Horn, the Canes did not allow a sack against Duke and are ranked 28th in the country with 1.33 sacks allowed per game.
Congratulations to both Harris and Horn as they prepare for the Florida State game on Saturday.
