Denzyl Perryman, Anthony Chickillo Named Freshman All-Americans

Hurricanes linebacker Denzyl Perryman was named to the Yahoo! Sports freshman All-American first team, while defensive end Anthony Chickillo was named to the second team.

Perryman was one of five ACC freshmen to be named to the Yahoo! Sports first team, joining FSU defensive tackle Tim Jernigan and Wake Forest cornerback Merrill Noel on the first team defense. Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins and North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard made the first team offense. Maryland defensive tackle Andre Monroe and Virginia cornerback Demetrious Nicholson join Chickillo as the only other ACC freshmen on the second team defense.

Perryman was named a All-American last week; Chickillo was left off of that team. Perryman finished second on the team with 69 tackles including 14 in the final game against Boston College, while Chickillo tied for the team lead with five sacks including one in the final game. Both players figure to play a big role on the Canes defense.
