Danny Dillard Officially Makes ‘Canes Roster

by Hurricanes Football

Freshman RB Danny Dillard is looking to make a name for himself.

With the departure of star running back Lamar Miller, Dillard will find himself battling it out on the depth chart with senior Mike James, junior Eduardo Clements, freshman Dallas Crawford and freshman Duke Johnson.

Dillard was held up by the NCAA clearinghouse and it was unclear whether or not he would gain admission in the University of Miami.  Well my friends, he is officially on the ‘Canes roster.

Dillard, who will be donning the number 32, will have to undergo conditioning to make sure that he is up to par with the rest of the team.  Said current Miami offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, “Danny is finding a role right now.  He’s beginning to kind of feel his way a little bit and learn the system.  You know he’s a big back.  He’s 6-foot-2…and maybe 218.  So he can carry the load on some of those short-yard-type plays.”

Dillard is from Venice, Florida and was one of only two running back to sign with Miami’s 2012 class.  He was recruited by Art Kehoe.
