Come on Vernon, what’s the deal, man?  Not into the competition?

Geez.

It has been announced that freshman CB Vernon Davis has been granted a release from the University of Miami.

Davis, out of Coral Reef High (Miami, FL.), was ranked a three-star recruit and was one of five freshman cornerbacks in Miami’s 2012 class, headlined by Tracy Howard.  Davis was not listed on any of the recent depth charts released by Golden.

Davis committed to the ‘Canes in June, just before his senior season.  He had received offers from Vanderbilt, Mississippi, Boston College and Memphis.

Per 247sports.com, Davis planned on working hard to get playing time.  “My expectations are to get on the field and be a great student,” said Davis.  “Part of being a college athlete is living up to things on and off the field.  It’s about staying focused, doing the right things and minimizing the bad things.”

Davis will reportedly be transferring to West Virginia.  Best of luck to him.
