Well my fellow ‘Canes fans, only 10 more days until Miami hammers Boston College. Couldn’t come soon enough.
Here’s a look at what’s been happening in the world of Miami Hurricanes football:
- RT Seantrel Henderson is back and practicing. Said Golden, “It’s good to have him back. Seantrel is part of our football program…right now he has to get his house in order before he can help us. That’s the truth. He’s got a lot of things going on. I’m going to keep it private with him. I think I owe him that. I think he’s got to get himself together and then he can help the Miami Hurricanes.”
- On another note, redshirt freshman DT Corey King is also back at practice.
- Freshman DB Vernon Davis has been granted a release from Miami and is seeking to transfer to West Virginia in search of early playing time. The ‘Canes now have 83 players listed on their roster with the departure of Davis.
- There has been a rumor running rampant that LB Eddie Johnson may no longer be on the team. According to miami247.sports.com, there is no validity to this. “Eddie is inside right now and should be out shortly, ” said Golden when asked about Johnson at practice. However, the Miami Herald is reporting that there may be some truth to this rumor but will not report further unless it is confirmed. In any event, if Johnson were to be off of the team, Thurston Armbrister would be in line to start.
- Junior DT Curtis Porter is questionable vs. Boston College. He recently had surgery to remove his appendix.
- If you haven’t already, check out this video of Ray Lewis welcoming the UM class of 2016 during orientation. Good stuff.
- In some other news, and being the Browns fan that I am (I have family in Cleveland, alright), CB Joe Haden was kicked off of the practice field by Pat Shurmur for laying the wood to rookie WR Travis Benjamin. Haden was ordered to leave the field and Shurmur said his first priority is the safety of his players. Perhaps Benjamin burnt Haden? Or maybe it’s a Gator vs. a ‘Cane thing?
- Golden said that between 60-65 players will be listed on the travel roster for Boston College. He will finalize his list by “Sunday or Monday.”
