After an embarrassing loss against Boston College last year in Sun Life Stadium, the ‘Canes are seeking revenge against the Eagles.  The Hurricanes were defeated 24-17, due largely in part to Jacory Harris’s four interceptions.  “The BC victory snapped a four game streak of the Hurricanes covering the spread against the Eagles.”

Miami will now rely heavily on junior quarterback Stephen Morris, who has also been interception prone, but if he can manage to get into an early passing rhythm, expect the Eagles to be defenseless.

Last year, Vegas favored the ‘Canes by 14.5 over Boston College.  This year Boston College is favored by just one point.  The game is basically a toss-up.

Miami hasn’t played at Boston College since 2007 where they lost 28-14.  Miami is 8-2 in their last ten games at Boston College.

The ‘Canes are the underdog due largely because they are on the road.  If this game were in Miami, I would expect the ‘Canes to be the favorite.  Also, Miami has a lot to prove to both fans and critics alike.  At this point there remains too many unknowns with this Hurricane team.  This years team is young.  Expect to see a lot of freshman on the field.

Courtesy of the Sun Sentinel, here is a listing of the point spreads:

- Vegas Insider consensus: Pick ‘em

- Las Vegas Hilton: Pick ‘em

- MGM Mirage: Miami favored by 1 point

- William Hill: Pick ‘em

- Wynn Las Vegas: Boston College favored by 1 point

- Caesars/Harrah/Rio: Pick ‘em

- Stations: Boston College favored by 1 point

- Sportsbook: Pick ‘em

Whatever the spread, expect the ‘Canes to come out hungry.  Revenge will be on their minds and youngsters will step up to prove themselves worthy of playing.  Boston College is too banged up to beat this years ‘Canes.  Stephen Morris is confident and Denzel Perryman is “ready to make it nasty.”

If the ‘Canes can manage to beat Boston College, this will provide a confidence boost going into Kansas State the following week.
