RT Seantrel Henderson admits that he was a bit surprised when offensive line coach Art Kehoe told him to go in and play LT against Bethune-Cookman.  It was in the third quarter of Saturday’s game when Kehoe informed Henderson that he would line up at LT, a position he hadn’t practiced for all year.

“I was a bit surprised.  I didn’t think coach Kehoe was going to do that,” said Henderson.  “We don’t really ask questions when we’re told we’re going in the game.”

Henderson says that he was nervous about playing LT because he hadn’t played in that spot since undergoing back surgery nearly a year ago.  He was out nearly all of August due to a concussion but said he felt good once he was on the field.

Freshman Ereck Flowers continued to see action at RT and Malcolm Bunche returned to LT following Henderson’s one snap endeavor.

Golden praised Henderson highly following Saturday’s game, saying, “I asked him how he felt as soon as we got into the locker room and he smiled.  I think he’s starting to get to the point where he can compete more.”

In other news:

Injuries are continue to mount for the ‘Canes.  Absent from Saturday’s game were S Vaughn Telemaque and LB Ramon Buchanan, however, LB Denzel Perryman left Saturday’s game on crutches and was wearing a boot on his right foot.  His status in currently unknown.

LS Sean McNally was injured following the ‘Canes first punt of the game.  He was also seen in a boot.

DE Shayon Green underwent tests on the sideline during Miami’s game against B-CU and LB Tyrone Cornelius was sidelined  during the first-half of Saturday’s game.

As well are all aware, Sun Life Stadium is rarely filled to capacity – especially during Miami Hurricanes games.  The same can be said for Saturdays game vs. B-CU.  The attendance was marked at 39,435.  The lack of fans in the stadium couldn’t matter any less to head coach Al Golden.  “I don’t worry about the crowd.  I understand the market we’re in.  There’s going to be a day when we’re delivering and they’re going to come out and see guys like Duke Johnson and Malcolm Lewis and those guys.  We’re going to grow up together.  I promise you this team is going to grow up together.

CB Dallas Crawford got his first interception as a ‘Cane.  Nice work young man.

DE Anthony Chickillo had five tackles and one fumble recovery.

Miami only allowed 122 passing yards against B-CU.
