The Miami Herald is reporting that after undergoing an appendectomy, DT Curtis Porter has been practicing with the Miami Hurricanes scout team for the past two days.  Porter has yet to play a game for the ‘Canes this season and there is no set time for his return.

The DT hasn’t practiced since August and Golden said that the coaches are in the progress of “getting him back into condition and back into game shape.”  The only way to get Porter back into shape is by having him play on the scout team.

In other news:

- DE Kelvin Cain did not play against Notre Dame and remains absent from the most recent depth chart.  Cain did, however, participate in practice on Wednesday.

- LG Jon Feliciano has been wearing a yellow non-contact jersey and has been limited in practice.  RT Ben Jones continues to be sidelined by an injury that he suffered against North Carolina State.

- For those of you interested, a petition has been formed in an effort to bring a stadium back to the U.  As stated on the website, “This is not in anyway a petition to see if this is realistic or not!  It is merely a way for fans, alum, boosters to say ‘we want a stadium!”  A link to the petition can be found here.  And for those interested, yes, I did sign the petition and so should you!
