Miami Hurricanes Football: 34 Recruits To Attend UM-FSU Game

34 high school recruits will be in attendance Saturday night, when Miami hosts rival Florida State.  Many of the prospects may play a pivotal role for either program in the near future.  Miami must impress in what is likely their biggest recruiting session of the season.

Courtesy of Nate Adelson from Inside The U, here is the list of prospects that will be attending the game:

RB Alex Collins, South Plantation.  Collins has already pledged to Miami, however, his commitment seems to be up in the air.  He recently had an official visit to Florida State and is likely to compare the pros and cons of both schools.

RB Sony Michel (2014), American Heritage.  Even though Michel is just a junior, the standout running back has been gaining attention since he was in the eighth grade.  Some have compared him to former Miami RB Tyrone Moss and Florida State and Miami have drawn major interest from the youngster.

OL Denver Kirkland, Booker T. Washington. Miami and Florida State have been battling for the stud defensive tackle and rumor has it that the ‘Canes are his leader.  He is expected to make a decision on signing day and Kirkland plans to take official visits to both schools.

DE Chad Thomas (2014), Booker T. Washington. Both Miami and Florida State offered the junior defensive end early on.  Thomas lists both programs at the top and will be ranked as one of the nations best defensive ends come his senior year.

DT/OL Marquedius Bain, University School. The one-time Florida State commit insists that the ‘Noles are no longer in the picture.  The ‘Canes were once at the top of his list until he dropped them altogether.  Perhaps a win over Florida State will make Bain reconsider Miami.

DT Jaynard Bostwick, West Centennial.  Bostwick has said that Miami is his leader and it has appeared that he has never had much interest in Florida State.  The ‘Canes coaching staff has been going after him hard but he hasn’t visited UM since last February.  As of now, the ‘Canes find themselves in a good position to land the talented defensive tackle.

LB Matthew Thomas, Booker T. Washington.  Both Florida State and Miami and fighting hard to land the top recruit in Dade county.  It appears that Florida State has the edge, but Miami has made up some much needed ground.
