Freshman LB Gabe Terry and RB Duke Johnson find themselves among the ACC Football Players of the Week for Nov. 5.

Terry was named ACC Specialist of the Week for his punt block against Virginia Tech.  In Miami’s 30-12 win over the Hokies, Terry’s blocked punt was recovered by S Rayshawn Jenkins and would be converted into a Miami touchdown just two plays later.  This is Terry’s first-time being honored by the ACC.

Freshman RB Duke Johnson was named ACC Rookie of the Week.  Against Virginia Tech, Johnson amassed 217 all-purpose yards.  The young speedster totaled 100 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries.  This is the third time that Johnson has been named ACC Rookie of the Week.

The ‘Canes will travel to Charlottesburg, VA. on Nov. 10 to take on the Virginia Cavaliers in a critical ACC-Coastal match-up.

Virginia DT Chris Brathwaite was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance against North Carolina State.  The sophomore tallied five tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Kickoff for Miami-Virginia is scheduled for noon on Nov. 10.
