Have you ever gotten a tattoo that you may now regret? I’m pretty sure that is the case with former Auburn LB commit Reuben Foster.
According to 247Sports, “The five-star prospect from Auburn (Ala.) confirmed via text Friday morning he has de-committed from the Auburn Tigers.”
This certainly comes as a blow to Auburn, who can probably expect more recruits to follow suit. When Auburn fired Gene Chizik, new head football coach Gus Malzahn announced that Trooper Taylor – Foster’s primary recruiter – would not be retained. It turns out that Foster had a close relationship with Taylor and the loss of one quickly turned into losing two.
If you have followed the wacky world of recruiting, you know how quickly prospects can change their mind. In the case of Foster, the one-time Alabama commit decided to get Auburn’s logo tattooed on his forearm. Oops. How do you explain that one? Maybe they can cover that up with the Georgia Bulldog – perhaps they can slap the LSU Tiger over it. Pretty soon his forearm will look like an Andy Warhol canvas.
All jokes aside, Foster has re-opened his recruitment. 247sports has said that he has taken a visits to Georia and LSU. He is now said to be considering Alabama, Miami (FL.) and Washington as well.
Foster is listed as the No. 1 outside linebacker and No.8 overall according to the 247Composite.
