It appears that former Palm Beach Central wide receiver Angelo Jean-Louis will not be attending the University of Miami. Jean-Louis, who was highly touted by UM, attended Fork Union (VA.) Military Academy to get his grades in order. Well, it appears that his grades are still not up to par with UM standards.
The Miami Herald is reporting that Jean-Louis will not be in orange and green next season. Per the Herald, “Barring a change of heart by UM, the Hurricanes no longer expect highly-recruited receiver Angelo Jean-Louis to be part of their 2013 recruiting class. He committed to UM last year but didn’t qualify and spent the past semester at prep school.”
It has been reported that Jean-Louis has been in contact with Marshall as of late, as is usually the case with athletes who have academic issues – see former UM commits A.J. Leggett and Kevin Grooms.
Miami head coach Al Golden has been making a strong push for Northeast WR Stacey Cooley, so they must have known about Jean-Louis’ grade issues for some time.
Unless Jean-Louis nailed his ACT, the chances of seeing him play in Coral Gables appear to be slim-to-none.
