The University of Miami received a big commitment Saturday when Don Bosco (New Jersey) DE Alquadin Muhammad chose the ‘Canes during the U.S. Army All American Bowl.
Muhammad told 247sports, “The Canes are a great program. It’s not too far from home. They have great players and great coaches. It’s a great place to be at. It’s warm.”
Warm it is indeed. Speaking of warm, Miami’s 2013 recruiting class is beginning to warm up. Muhammad is listed as a top Top 100 player per ESPN and is ranked the No. 68 prospect overall on the 247Composite.
The 6-4, 230-pound defensive end chose Miami over Alabama and Notre Dame. It had been speculated that Muhammad was favoring Miami since taking his official visit on Dec. 7. Prior to visiting Coral Gables, Muhammad was considered by many as a heavy Notre Dame lean.
Muhammad becomes Miami’s 13th commitment in the 2013 class.
