University of Miami associate head coach/tight ends coach Mario Cristobal has been hired by the University of Alabama as their next offensive line coach, per CBSSports.
According to CBSSports:
Cristobal, who interviewed last week, is in Tuscaloosa on Monday to finalize the deal, according to a source.”
After Cristobal was fired by FIU following the conclusion of the 2012 season, Miami head coach Al Golden swayed the prominent coach back to his alma mater to serve as Miami’s tight ends coach in Jan. Cristobal, who has strong connections in S. Fla., is a force to be reckoned with on the recruiting scene. Unfortunately for Miami, his recruiting will now be done for Bama’ head coach Nick Saban.
Cristobal will replace former Miami coach Jeff Stoutland who has been hired to fill the same position with the Philadelphia Eagles.
