Miami Hurricanes guard Shane Larkin has decided to return for his junior season, according to a report by the Sun Sentinel.
Larkin told Michael Casagrande of the Sentinel:
I love playing for coach L. Obviously, you want to go to the next level, but I love what I’m doing now. I love all the players and I love everybody in the program and I love everybody at the school.”
A team that will lose a substantial amount of seniors following the end of the 2013 season, Larkin’s return is certainly good news for head coach Jim Larranaga. Durand Scott, Julian Gamble, Reggie Johnson, Trey McKinney Jones and Kenny Kadji will all be lost to graduation.
Larkin finished runner-up to teammate Durand Scott for the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award and was named First-Team All-ACC.
The sophomore is averaging 13.7 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season.
