Sophomore DE Ricardo Williams and sophomore WR Robert Lockhart will transfer from the University of Miami.
First reported by Cane Insider, neither Williams nor Lockhart saw much playing time during the 2012 season, however, UM fans were eager to see what both could do on the field.
Williams (6-5, 251) would redshirt during the 2011 season. The Homestead, Fla. native was the all-time sack leader at Homestead High School and played both tight end and wide receiver during both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Williams held more than 20 offers and chose the Hurricanes’ over Marshall, North Carolina and Texas Tech (247 Sports)
Lockhart (6-1, 183), who was originally a Virginia Tech commit, went the prep route and attended Fork Union Military Academy (VA.) for a year. He suffered a season-ending injury that would sideline him for much of the 2012 season. Lockhart was ranked the No. 271 overall prospect and the No. 32 overall wide receiver per the 247Composite.
