Al Golden and the Miami Hurricanes received their 10th commitment of the 2014 class on Saturday when Georgia LB Juwon Young pledged to UM.
Young (Albany, GA.) attended Al Golden’s Football Camp on Saturday and relayed the news to coaches thereafter.
The 6-2, 228-pound linebacker lists offers from Ole Miss, North Carolina, Middle Tennessee State and Louisiana-Lafayette, among others. Young is ranked the No. 48 OLB and the No. 47 Georgia prospect per the 247Composite.
According to 247Sports, Young is unclear whether coaches will play him at OLB or ILB. The 4-star LB has a nose for finding the ball carrier and he shows a quickness for his size. At 228-pounds, Young has the potential to fill out at the next level. As a junior, he was able to bench 380-pounds and squat 565-pounds.
Georgia has proved to be good recruiting grounds for the Hurricanes and Young will join fellow Georgians Tyrone Cornelius, Shayon Green, Raphael Kirby, Taylor Gadbois and Jontavious Carter.
In his junior season, Young totaled 118 tackles, three sacks and four forced fumbles.
