The Miami Hurricanes received their 22nd verbal commitment in the 2014 class when Booker T. Washington (Miami, Fla.) CB Nigel Bethel pledged to the U.
After receiving an offer from Miami in February, Bethel decided to make it official.
Bethel tweeted (_NigelBethel): “Thanks everyone appreciate it…no hard feelings to any other school, I just wanted to eat in my hometown.”
With nearly 20 offers, Bethel chose the Hurricanes over Florida State, Ole Miss, South Florida and Tennessee. A 3-star prospect, Bethel ranks as the No. 36 CB in the nation and the No. 51 player in the state of Florida (247Composite).
He becomes Miami’s third cornerback commitment in the 2014 class, joining Dennis Turner (Dillard) and Ryan Mayes (Northwestern). Bethel will join Booker T. Washington teammate Demetrius Jackson at UM.
