The Miami Hurricanes landed a big commitment on Saturday when 2014 Booker T. Washington DE Chad Thomas pledged to the University of Miami
Thomas (6-5, 240) becomes the second Booker T. Washington player to commit to Miami in the past two days. He will join high school teammates Nigel Bethel and Demetrius Jackson at UM.
With nearly 20 offers, Thomas chose the Hurricanes over Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Louisville and Notre Dame. The 4-star prospect is ranked the No. 10 WDE in the nation and the No. 17 prospect in the state of Florida (247Composite).
On why he chose Miami, Thomas told 247Sports, “They [Miami] are one of the top programs in the country, so I know I can go there and get some great coaching. They also have some of the best academics in the nation. It is a family down there and I feel home at Miami.”
In his junior year, Thomas amassed 57 tackles and 4 sacks. He becomes Miami’s 23rd commitment in the 2014 class.
