Recruiting: Ely LB Terry McCray Commits to UM

Ely (Pompano Beach, Fla.) LB Terry McCray committed to the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday becoming the 24th commitment in the 2014 class.

McCray (6-2, 215), who was offered by Miami during his junior year, visited UM today and decided to pledge to Al Golden and the ‘Canes.

McCray chose the Hurricanes over Cincinnati, Minnesota, Syracuse, Temple and West Virginia.  The 3-star prospect is ranked the No. 54 ILB and the No. 199 prospect in the state of Florida.

He becomes the third linebacker commit in the 2014 class, joining Darrion Owens (Orange Park, Fla.) and Juwon Young (Abany, GA.).

With the addition of McCray, Miami now has the No. 5 recruiting class in 2014 per 247Sports, while Tennessee sits at No. 1, followed by Florida State, Georgia and Alabama.

Just yesterday Miami was the number two recruiting class, how does adding a commit send the Canes to fifth overall?? Makes no sense.

They are shown as No. 5 on 247Sports. UM is No. 3 on Rivals and No. 7 on ESPN. Miami has 24 commits, but not the star-ratings as the other teams ranked higher up.
