Washington, D.C. shooting guard James Palmer committed to the University of Miami as part of their 2014 class.
On Monday evening, Palmer chose the Hurricanes over George Mason, Memphis, UMass, Rutgers and Wake Forest.
On why he decided to commit to Larranaga and the Hurricanes, the 6-foot-4 Palmer told the Washington Post, “I feel like I have a good relationship with Coach [Larranaga] and I fit their style of play. It just felt like the right decision.”
Palmer averaged 10.3 points per game last season for St. John’s and ranks as the No. 10 prospect in Washington, D.C. and No. 436 nationally, according to maxpreps.com.
He becomes Miami’s second commitment in the 2014 class, joining SG Adonys Henriquez (Orlando, Fla.).
