Recruiting: Former Cornhusker Ernest Suttles Signs With Miami

The Hurricanes continue to boost their defensive line, adding former Nebraska signee Ernest Suttles.

Reported by Peter Ariz, Suttles first signed with Nebraska as part of their 2013 class.  A Tampa, Fla. native, Suttles was thrown off of team by head coach Bo Pelini after he was ticketed for misdemeanor assault.

According to courier-journal.com, a fight broke out during a party between Suttles and his Nebraska teammate, David Santos, in which Suttles allegedly broke a beer bottle over Santos’ head.

Shortly after, Pelini dismissed Suttles, along with teammate Thomas Brown in June.

Suttles was a highly touted defensive end coming out of high school and was expected to contend for ample playing time at linebacker for the Cornhuskers.

The 3-star prospect was rated the No. 24 WDE during the class of 2013 and the No. 77 prospect nationally (247Sports).

Due to transfer rules, Suttles will have to sit out a year before playing at Miami.

Didn’t take long for Nebraska coaches to catch the character issues with this guy. But apparently very talented. Perfect fit for the Hurricanes!

From what I understand, Suttles will not be attending Miami after all.
