Coming off of a 34-6 win against FAU, the Miami Hurricanes find themselves ranked No. 24 in the latest Coaches Poll.
The Hurricanes fell just eight points shy of cracking the AP Poll, but should they manage a win this Saturday against No. 12 Florida, Miami will surely find themselves inside the top 25.
Being ranked in the Coaches Poll becomes the first time the team has been ranked under head coach Al Golden.
Saturday’s game against Florida could arguably be the most significant match-up during Golden’s tenure. While at Miami, Golden carries a 13-11 career record. He is 2-4 when playing against ranked teams and the Hurricanes last win against a ranked team came in 2011 when Miami beat No. 22 Georgia Tech, 24-7.
The Gators and Hurricanes last met in 2008 and Miami holds a 28-26 all-time series lead.
