With win over Florida, Miami Hurricanes crack top 25

After upsetting the No. 12 Florida Gators on Saturday, 21-16, the Miami Hurricanes find themselves sitting at No. 15 in the latest AP Poll.

So are the Hurricanes officially “back?’

As of now, it is too early to say, however, the last time that Miami beat a ranked team was in 2011 during the Randy Shannon era.  The Hurricanes knocked off No. 22 Georgia Tech, 24-7, at Sun Life Stadium.

The last time that Miami beat a team ranked in the top 15 also came against Georgia Tech.  Led by QB Jacory Harris, the Hurricanes throttled the No. 14 Jackets, 33-17.

Miami has not been ranked in the AP Poll since finishing the 2009 season with a 9-4 record.  That year, the Hurricanes topped out at No. 19.
