According to London, Dewey will remain enrolled as a student at the University of Miami.

Dewey, who is still listed on UM’s official roster, redshirted as a true freshman in 2012.  Rated a 3-star prospect by Rivals.com, Dewey committed to the Hurricanes in June of 2011.

The Texas native picked UM over Mississippi, North Carolina, Southern Miss, Tennessee and UCLA, among others.

Dewey missed Miami’s training camp and would have likely found himself battling for the third string QB position with teammates Gray Crow and freshman Kevin Olsen.

Hurricanes’ head coach Al Golden told the Miami Herald in August that Dewey’s absence stemmed from a personal matter and would not elaborate further.
