Berrios, who is ranked a three-star athlete by 247Sports, chose the Hurricanes during a press conference over Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee.

On why he chose Miami, said Berrios, “It’s all about ‘The U’ baby.”

“It just felt like family.  I’ve been a longtime Canes fan, and it really wasn’t as simple as that, it really wasn’t,” Berrios told highschoolot.com.  “Getting that offer was great, it was a dream come true, but I had to step back and really look, weigh my options, and see what fit me best.”

The 5-8, 170-pound receiver is ranked the No. 34 athlete and the No. 14 prospect in the state of North Carolina (247Composite).

For the 2012 season, Berrios totaled 766 reception yards and ten touchdowns.  He has also amassed 1,142 rushing yards and threw one passing touchdown.
