After suffering a leg injury in Miami’s 27-23 win over North Carolina on Thursday, it has been confirmed that WR Phillip Dorsett will miss 4-6 weeks.
Hurricanes’ head coach Al Golden told Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post, “Phillip has got a slight or partial tear of his MCL, which we’re all grateful to be honest with you. It did not look good last night.”
Dorsett hauled in two receptions for 68 yards before exiting the game and later reappearing on the sidelines donning crutches.
The junior receiver has 13 receptions for 272 yards and two touchdowns this season. He led the Hurricanes’ wide-outs last year with 842 receiving yards and 58 receptions.
Dorsett, who is also used on special teams, has nine punt returns for 57 yards.
