'Canes Pick Up Commitment From Three-Star 2015 DE Richard McIntosh

Early Thursday afternoon, the Hurricanes picked up their 18th commit of the 2015 class in 3-star DE Richard McIntosh out of Cardinal Gibbons High School. The commitment was first reported by CanesInsight’s Peter Ariz.

McIntosh is a super-atheltic end that likely fits in the 3-4 scheme the Canes have established over the last couple of seasons. McIntosh, however, will have to fill out his 6’5 frame, which is currently at 235 pounds, but he has a couple of years before he makes a significant impact with the depth the Canes have at his position.

The Cardinal Gibbons product is also capable of playing in the inside of the line, which we all know has been a repetitive problem for Miami.

The McIntosh commitment was made official, how it always is, with a #WelcometotheU tweet.

McIntosh had offers from schools such as Florida, Georgia Tech and Missouri, but he was highly regarded as a Canes lean for the majority of his recruiting process. All-in-all, it’s a really solid get by the Miami staff.

WELCOME TO THE U, RICHARD
