Five star running back Lorenzo Lingard’s recent commitment to the Miami Hurricanes propelled the 2018 class to second nationally as ranked by 247 Sports. CanesWarning takes inventory of the upcoming class and prioritizes its importance.

Many prominent local and national recruiting pundits have cited the astronomical and boundless depth of the 2018 class. The State of Florida and in particular South Florida is absolutely peppered with blue chip talent.

The Miami Hurricanes have raced out of the blocks faster than Usain Bolt’s track cleats. National Signing Day might be almost a year away but the Miami class is already considered one of the best. Keep in mind, these are just verbal commitments. Things can change a lot in the 50 weeks before signing day 2018.

In a recent Canes All Access interview, Miami Hurricanes safeties coach Ephraim Banda could not contain his excitement. When Banda talked about the 2018 class, he became giddy as if he were a school girl at a Taylor Swift concert.

"“That 18 class is special now. What that 18 class has is a lot of young men who have a true burning desire and passion to become Hurricanes. Not to be other schools, to be Hurricanes. They’re born and bred here. They have that orange and green in their blood. They are dedicated to this program and that’s what is very exciting about this (2018) class.”"
