Will we see a Miami Hurricane Freshman Starting QB?
Perry seems to have the record for a Hurricanes incoming freshmen for the number of tweets regarding him and his potential. Hurricane fans are enamored by Perry’s dual threat play-making ability.
They have seemingly simultaneously jettisoned Kaaya like he was an archaic cumbersome piece of armor and embraced the Perry era like it was a set of unabated yoga gear.
Coach Richt has put an emphasis on an adding a mobility aspect to the quarterback this year. Jack Allison’s departure from the team unilaterally solidified that ideology.
Coupled with the fact out of Richt’s 11 quarterback targets in 2018, seven are dual threats. The four remaining pro style offers, including 2018 quarterback commit Artur Sitkowski, are all mobile in their own right.
Perry does not handcuff you with mobility rather quite the opposite. ACC foes will have to respect and account for him in any zone read and QB keep capacity.
The opposing defensive mindset to just play man on man all game must be reevaluated because defenders now have to keep their backs turned. Backs turned means losing sight of Perry.
Perry gives you all you need in terms of arm strength. Richt has praised the young signal caller for having a live arm. Perry has all the tools necessary to start.
