Running Back Mark Walton is the Miami Hurricanes most productive returning player for the 2017 season. Discussing the upcoming season Walton repeatedly showed he is the ultimate team player while answering questions from the media at ACC Kickoff days.

Walton followed his Miami Hurricanes teammate Shaquille Quarterman as UM took their turn answering the media’s questions during ACC Kickoff days on Friday. The Hurricanes Junior running back has a chance to top the Miami record books by the end of the season.

Walton’s 23 career rushing touchdowns place him 12 behind Stephen McGuire’s school record set between 1989-92. He is also only ten overall touchdowns behind the same record set by McGuire and Edgerrin James.

No one asked him about the record nor was it brought up. Walton largely discussed the team and how he can help the team, what the team can accomplish and how good his teammates are.

The first question out of the box sounded like it came from Super Bowl media day. That day is notorious for outlandish and irrelevant questions. One such question to Walton asked him about his wardrobe.

The question seemed to come from station WSET in Roanoke, Virginia. It came after Virginia Tech wide receiver Cam Phillips wore a gold velvet suit. Walton looked sharp in a suit and bow tie.
