Florida running back Iverson Clement who doesn’t even make the Gators three-deep depth chart trolled the Miami football team and then cowardly deleted a tweet that was posted on Monday.

Iverson Clement‘s tweet was posted on Monday and has since been deleted. The context of the tweet was that Clements expects that the Gators will blowout the Miami football team in the season opener August 24.

Clement will not have a chance to make it, as he said, ugly for the Miami football team, because the likelihood of him playing a is slim. The comment from the redshirt freshman was hypocritical and deleting the tweet was cowardly.

Clement had four carries for 17 yards last season. His brief playing time came against FCS schools Charleston Southern and Idaho.

Clement stated the Gators would make it “ugly real fast” for the Hurricanes. Florida exceeded expectations with a 10-3 season in Dan Mullen’s inaugural leading the Gators football program last season. They had their moments of ugly games in 2018.

"“Watching film on them Miami boys and oh man, its bouta get ugly for dem boys real fast,” Clement wrote."

Clement’s teammate, linebacker Andrew Chatfield commented on how his team played SEC teams, while LSU was the only SEC team Miami played last season. In Chatfield’s estimation, the Tigers smashed the Hurricanes. LSU defeated Miami 33-17 in the 2018 season opener in a game that wasn’t as close as the score.

Florida lost 27-16 to Kentucky which in most years would be considered an ugly loss. The Gators were “smashed” in their other two losses to turn around Chatfield’s quote from April. In back to back losses to Missouri and Georgia in weeks eight and nine in 2018, the Gators were defeated by an average of 37-17.

The excuse that those losses were to SEC teams doesn’t matter when you get blown out. Florida is also two years removed from a 4-7 season. Some will point to Mullen as making an impact. That is clearly something that his protege Manny Diaz can do at Miami. Diaz was a defensive coordinator for Mullen at Mississippi State.

Chatfield was asked how much of a challenge that Miami would be with the Hurricanes returning six of their front seven. The redshirt freshman’s comments came in April. He won’t face the Miami front seven playing defense. Clement would if he plays. The comments from Chatfield were just as hypocritical.

Chatfield considered signing with the Miami football program after playing at American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale. Hurricanes defensive tackle Nesta Silvera and offensive lineman Kai-Leon Herbert were teammates with Chatfield in high school.

Miami actually returns five of their front seven on defense. Defensive end Joe Jackson and defensive tackle Gerald Willis will be in NFL training camps with the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens this summer. Clements’ comments are hypocritical.

Clement’s experience as a college football player did not come against SEC teams, Power Five schools or even Group of Five programs. Clements’ sole experience as a college football player has been against a pair of FCS schools that combined to go 9-13 in 2018. It’s always important to examine the content and source of a message.

Next. Miami football not challenge per Florida LB Chatfield. dark

Clements since-deleted tweet which added to Chatfield’s comments on video that they did not view Miami as much of a challenge certainly seems to be that he and (hopefully) his teammates are not taking the Gators opener against the Miami football program seriously. If that happens, UM will be the one to make it ugly fast.
