Four-star safety Kamren Kinchens of Miami Northwestern announced on Twitter Thursday morning that he will declare his college destination July 11. The Miami football program is the current crystal ball leader to sign Kinchens.

Four-star safety Kamren Kinchens is high on the Miami Football priority list for 2021. Should Kinchens commit to Miami July 11 he would tie for the fourth-highest player in the Hurricanes 2021 class with four-star offensive tackle Michael McLaughlin. Kinchens would be the second-highest ranked defensive player in 2021.

Four-star defensive tackle Savion Collins is currently the highest-ranked defensive player committed to the Miami football program for 2021. Offensive guard Laurence Seymore is the highest-rated current commit in the 2021 Miami recruiting class. The Hurricanes currently have no safeties committed for 2021.

The Hurricanes signed four safeties in 2020. That includes four-stars, Avantae Williams who was Miami’s highest-ranked signee in the 2021 class and Jalen Harrell who could eventually move to striker. Kinchens announced via Twitter on Thursday morning that he will be making his college destination known on July 11.

The top five finalists to sign Kinchens according to a post he made in early May are Miami, Auburn, LSU, Nebraska and Texas A&M. Kinchens told Rivals.Com earlier this week that Auburn, Miami and Texas A&M are even to sign him. LSU who was once the favorite is out of the top five currently according to Kinchens.

LSU has their commits already according to Kinchens and that has taken them out of the running. Kinchens also told Rivals that he likes Nebraska but they are not “up there” with Miami, Auburn and Texas A&M. Miami has three of Kinchen’s Northwestern teammates committed to the 2021 class.

Four-star wide receiver Romello Brinson who also plays at Northwestern is considering Miami and Texas A&M as well. Kinchens has taken visits to Miami, Auburn and LSU. The Hurricanes need to show Kinchens that they can win close games. Miami was 2-5 in 2019 in games decided by seven points or less.
