Defensive back Keionte Scott and wide receiver Tony Johnson remain out and defensive tackle David Blay is questionable on the Friday ACC Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update. Johnson will miss his fourth consecutive game and Scott is out for the third straight contest.
Blay has missed the last two games and appears to be headed towards being a game-time decision. With Blay out, Armondo Blount and Justin Scott received the majority of snaps at defensive tackle at Virginia Tech. Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor can also move inside and play DT for Miami.
Pittsburgh reserve linebacker Nick Lapi and starting left guard Keith Gouiveia are the only players on the Pittsburgh two-deep depth chart listed as out. Defensive tackles Francis Brewu and Sean FitzSimmons, left guard Ryan Carretta and kicker Trey Butkowski are starters who are questionable for Pittsburgh.
Reserve running back Desmond Reid is also listed as questionable for Pittsburgh. The Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update were the same for Miami and Pittsburgh on Friday night as they were on Thursday. The players listed as questionable will be the ones to watch on Saturday morning.

Reid is second on Pittsburgh with 60 carries for 278 yards with two TDs. Pittsburgh has three good RBs with Ja'Kyrian Turner and Juelz Goff also having very productive seasons. Getting Butkowski back will be significant for Pittsburgh.
Brewu is a key player for Pittsburgh on the DL with 32 tackles, 5.0 TFLs, 1.0 sack and 1.0 forced fumble in 2025. FitzSimmons has been productive next to Brewu with 20 tackles, 2.0 TFLs and 1.0 sack in games during the 2025 season.
Gouveia started the first six games for Pittsburgh at left guard in 2025 and Carretta replaced him as the starter over the next four contests before he was injured. Getting Caretta back would be a significant boost to a Pittsburgh offensive line that faces a big challenge against an elite Miami DL.
