Miami starting running back Mark Fletcher Jr. and cornerback O.J. Frederique and reserve wide receiver Tony Johnson are out for the Hurricanes against Syracuse on Saturday. Starting defensive lineman Ahmad Moten Sr, linebacker C.J. Daniels and linebacker Wesley Bissainthe are questionable.
Fletcher Jr. was injured at the end of the loss to SMU on Saturday. Fletcher Jr. leads Miami with 125 carries for 636 rushing yards and nine TDs in 2025. Frederique has started all seven games for Miami in 2025 and had 10 tackles and five pass breakups. Johnson has seven receptions for 162 yards in 2025.
Bissainthe has played in 46 games in his Miami career with 34 starts. In 2025, Bissainthe is fourth on Miami with 32 tackles, has one interception and a forced fumble. Moten Sr. has 16 tackles, 3.0 tackles and 1.0 TFL while starting all seven games.
Daniels could miss his second consecutive game. In 2025, Daniels is second on Miami to Malachi Toney with 33 receptions for 351 receiving yards and leads the Hurricanes with six TD receptions. Expect JoJo Trader to continue to be a key target for Carson Beck if Daniels is out.

Syracuse will be without reserve WR Emanuel Ross and backup left tackle Joshua Miller, who are the key players listed as out, with eight players who are out on the initial ACC Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update against Miami. Ross has 10 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown in 2025.
Syracuse starters, defensive lineman Denis Jaquez Jr., center Austin Collins and left guard T.J. Ferguson, as well as backup left tackle Naquil Betrand, are questionable for Syracuse against Miami. Jaquez Jr. has 20 tackles, 3.0 TFLs and 1.0 sack in 2025.
Syracuse has struggled at QB since starter Steve Angeli was lost for the season with an Achilles injury. The Orange are 14th in the ACC, allowing 2.67 sacks per game. If Collins and Ferguson are out, added to the QB struggles and facing an elite Miami defensive line will likely have a huge impact on the game on Saturday.
