Miami Hurricanes Recruiting: Catching Up With Hurricanes Commit Tyree St. Louis

On July 29th, the Miami Hurricanes received verbal commitments from two highly rated offensive line prospects: Tyree St. Louis and Brendan Loftus. Ironically enough, the two players who pledged their commitments to the same team within minutes of each other, now play against each other to open up their senior seasons. Brendan Loftus’ Godby squad will be facing Tyree St. Louis and IMG Academy on Saturday, August 23rd at 7:00 P.M..

I spoke with Tyree St. Louis to get his thoughts on his upcoming senior season, his first visit to The University of Miami, and his teammates, and fellow Cane commits, Scott Patchan and Ryan Fines. St. Louis is the highest rated lineman in the Canes 2015 class. The 6’5-300lb tackle is rated a 4-star according to rivals and chose Miami over Mississippi St., Florida, and Tennessee, among others.

As Tyree St. Louis goes into his senior season he’s looking to continue to improve as an offensive lineman all around.

When asked about his personal goals, St. Louis said “The main thing is just working on any little tweaks in my technique and to get those figured out before I go to Miami.”

Tyree added that he also wants to “Enjoy my senior year with my family, my brothers, and my football team and have an undefeated season.”

About two weeks ago, St. Louis made the trip down from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida to Coral Gables with teammates Scott Patchan and Ryan Fines for U-Day. U-Day was a great chance for kids from other parts of the country, as well as many local kids, to come down to Miami and take a tour of the school while enjoing some good food.

Tyree St. Louis enjoyed the visit very much saying “It was amazing, that was my first time going down to see Miami and I was very impressed. Miami was amazing.”

While in Miami, St. Louis was able to meet up with offensive line coach Art Kehoe and, like most recruits, had great things to say about him “I love Coach Kehoe, Coach Kehoe is real funny. He’s never going to lie to you, he’s never going to try to cheat around you. He’s always going to tell you straight up how it is. He’s very straightforward and he always wants what’s in your best interest.”

I asked Tyree about his fellow teammates and Cane commits, four-star defensive end Scott Patchan and three-star defensive tackle Ryan Fines and this is what he had to say: “Some players may seem real uptight, but Scott is always goofy. Ryan is one of the more quieter ones, but he can also be real goofy. They’re two really really cool guys. They’re great to be around, great teammates, and it is going to be amazing playing with them at The University of Miami for the next four years.”

Tyree St. Louis also told me that he is solid to Miami and is not sure if he will take anymore visits.

Be sure to check all out four Cane commits on Saturday, August 23rd at 7:00 P.M. when IMG Academy takes on Godby. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Florida.

I asked St. Louis to give us a preview on this game. “Its going to be amazing, it’s going to be a packed game with the crowd going crazy. We’re going to be having fun on live TV and it is going to be a show.”

If you want to check out Tyree St. Louis’ highlights, you can do so here.

St. Louis is a good run blocker, but really excels in pass protection. He has great feet and athleticism for a player of his size. Coming from a prestigious football school like IMG Academy, St. Louis is very polished and will have the ability to make an immediate impact at the next level.
