With the dead period coming to an end this week, the weekend of January 16th is packed with top level talent visiting The Miami Hurricanes. Below is a list of every recruit that will be taking an official visit to Miami this weekend.

Jordan Scarlett: 5’11-205 Running Back, St. Thomas Aquinas(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 4 star

ESPN: 4 star

Jordan Scarlett is one of the top backs in the entire country. At over 200lbs, Scarlett is a powerful runner, but can still run a 4.38 forty. He was second fastest player at the Nike Opening in Oregon. Scarlett will be visiting Florida and Florida State in the coming weeks, so this visit will be an integral part of Miami being able to keep his commitment.

Marcus Lewis: 6’2-190 Defensive back, Gonzaga in Washington D.C.

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 4 star

ESPN: 4 star

Marcus Lewis is a versatile defensive back prospect. Lewis has great height and speed and can succeed at both safety and cornerback. The Canes feel like they have a very good shot at landing Lewis over Kentucky, Michigan, and Washington State.

Russell Ude: 6’3-255 Defensive end, Westminster in Atlanta Georgia

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Russell Ude is a big defensive end that the Canes are trying to flip. Ude is currently committed to Cal and will visit there on the 23rd. Miami will have to make a major impression to get Ude. At 6’3-255, Ude has the size to fit Miami’s 3-4 scheme well.

Fredrick Johnson: 6’7-305 Offensive tackle, Royal Palm Beach

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Fredrick Johnson is a player that the Miami staff feels confident with. Johnson was teammates with Miami commits Charles Perry and Todd Centeio this past season. Perry told me that he believes Johnson will be a Cane. Frederick Johnson is massive at 6’7-305 and can move extremely well for a player of his size. Frederick Johnson is a player that Miami coaches really like. He would be a great pickup for the Canes.

Jamie Gordinier: 6’4-235 OLB/DE, Red Bank New Jersey(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Miami commit Jamie Gordinier has been extremely solid to the Canes throughout the recruiting process. Despite having offers from the likes of Michigan St. and Nebraska, Gordinier is only taking one visit, and that’s to Miami. The 1st team All State standout has great size to play either OLB or DE and he recognizes plays very quickly. Jamie attacks downhill and is a very sure handed tackler.

Robert Knowles: 6’2-190 Safety, Miami Edison(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Robert Knowles just recently committed to the Canes on January 4th after raising his grades to where he could receive an offer. Knowles is under the radar due to grade issues, but he appears to have put that behind him. Knowles is a big, physical safety that can surprise a lot of people at the next level. He will need to add some weight, but he has the frame to do so easily.

Tyree St. Louis: 6’6-300 Offensive tackle, IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 4 star

Tyree St. Louis is one of the more athletic lineman that I’ve seen both live and on film. He is a good run blocker, but really excels in pass protection and has great feet and athleticism for a player of his size. St. Louis has the ability to step in and play as a freshman at Miami. Both Florida and Tennessee are coming after St. Louis, so hopefully this visit will help seal his recruitment.

Davante Davis: 6’3-200 Cornerback, Booker T. Washington, Miami

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 4 star

ESPN: 4 star

Davante Davis is currently committed to Texas, but will visit Miami this weekend and Florida the following weekend. Davis is a tall, lengthy corner that can keep up with just about any receiver out there. Davis was dominant this year for Booker T. Washington, where he won a state title with Miami commit Mark Walton. Davis will be a tough pull, but getting him on a visit this weekend is a good start.

Mark Walton: 5’10-180 Runningback, Booker T. Washington, Miami(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 4 star

ESPN: 4 star

After reclassifying from 2016 to 2015, Mark Walton quickly became one of highest rated backs in the 2015 class. Walton isn’t the fastest straight line runner, but he has great power, quickness, vision, and agility. It always takes multiple defenders to bring him down as he has incredible balance and a low center of gravity. Walton is also very good at catching the ball out of the backfield, and sometimes lined up in the slot in high school. Walton will be visiting West Virginia next weekend, but appears to be pretty solid with Miami.

Antonio Callaway: 5’11-190 Wide receiver, Booker T. Washington, Miami

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 4 star

ESPN: 4 star

Along with teammates Mark Walton and Davante Davis, Booker T. Washington receiver Antonio Callaway will be visiting Miami this weekend. Callaway is an explosive receiver that seemed to always make big plays when needed. He has great speed and can rack up yards after the catch. Callaway tore his meniscus late in the season, but should be back to 100% soon. Miami has a pretty good shot at landing Callaway, who seems to be down to just Florida and Miami.

Austrian Robinson: 6’6-255, Defensive end, Pawling, New York

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Robinson is a big defensive end who can really stuff the run. Miami doesn’t appear to be in the picture for Robinson, but you never know. He will visit Ohio State and Ole Miss in the following weekends. Out of the 16 crystal ball predictions for Robinson, none have him going to Miami.

Saleem Brightwell: 6-3-205 Outside linebacker, Paramus Catholic in New Jersey

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Brightwell is a very athletic linebacker that the Canes have made a big push for late. Miami didn’t offer Brightwell until December, but seem to be a favorite to land him. Brightwell is fast and can cover very well for a linebacker. He may need to add some weight at the next level, but Brightwell can definitely be an asset to Miami’s thin group of linebackers. Pitt, who looks to be Miami’s main competition for Brightwell, will get a visit from him on the 30th.

Hayden Mahoney: 6’5-280, Offensive tackle, Malvern Prep Pennsylvania(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Miami shouldn’t have anything to worry about with Hayden Mahoney. He is very solid in his commitment and has already taken 3 unofficial visits to Miami in the last 10 months. Mahoney has very good strength and does a good job of keeping his pads low and creating leverage. He will have to continue to work on his overall athleticism when he gets to Miami.

Tyler Gauthier: 6’5-305 Offensive tackle, Venice, Florida(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Much like Mahoney, Tyler Gauthier has been solid in his commitment and has unofficially visited Miami many times. Gauthier is an excellent run blocker that uses both his size and strength to drive defenders backwards. Gauthier does a good job of staying on his blocks and not allowing his man to get off and make the tackle.

Ryan Fines: 6’4-305 Defensive tackle, IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida(Miami Commit)

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Ryan Fines is another player that has been solid to the Canes all the way through. Fines is a big body inside that can help to stop the run, but can also get into the backfield pretty well for his size. He is quick off the line, but needs to work on his ability to shed blocks. Fines is a player that can see some early playing time on Miami’s defensive line.

Mohamed Barry: 6’1-210, Outside linebacker, Grayson in Loganville, Georgia

Rivals: 3 star

247sports: 3 star

ESPN: 3 star

Mohamed Barry is another player that the Canes offered just recently on December 8th. Barry is currently committed to Kansas State and will visit Nebraska on the 23rd. Miami lacks depth at linebacker, so Barry would be a really nice addition to this recruiting class. The Canes have been making a late push for him and hopefully this visit will make Miami a real contender for Barry.

Monday

Arden Key: 6’6-225 Defensive end, Hapeville Charter in Lithonia, Georgia

Rivals: 4 star

247sports: 4 star

ESPN: 4 star

Arden Key will be making a mid-week visit to Miami starting on Monday. Key just recently de-committed from South Carolina for the second time. Key is a tall, quick defensive end that looked pretty good during the Under Armour All American week. Key looks to be a bit of a longshot for the Canes, but a good visit could put Miami in the mix for him.
