The Miami Hurricanes got off to an incredible start with their 2016 recruiting class and are looking to maintain this recruiting momentum all the way through February of 2016. South Florida is loaded with stars for 2016, especially at the skill positions. 42 of the prospects listed in the first ESPN300 rankings for 2016 are from Florida with nearly 20 being from Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach. To help keep tabs on the Miami Hurricanes’ 2016 class, here is a complete list with a breakdown and film on each of the current offensive commits as well the total class and player rankings according to each major recruiting site.

This post will be continuously updated as rankings, stats, film and commits change throughout the recruiting process.

2016 Recruiting Class Ranking:

Rivals: Not yet released

247Sports: 1st overall

ESPN: Not yet released

18 total commits: 6 offensive commits, 12 defensive commits

(Players listed in alphabetical order, not by ranking)

6’5-195 Jack Allison: Quarterback, Palmetto High School in Palmetto, Florida

Rivals: 3-star

247Sports: 4-Star

ESPN: 4-star

Other offers: Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee and more

Allison was the first 2016 offensive recruit to commit to the Canes and helped to get the ball rolling. All three sites have Allison as one of top 10 quarterbacks in the country. Allison has been openly recruiting other prospects to Miami, and Miami’s class has already gained some of the best receivers in the country since his commitment. Allison has good arm strength and tremendous accuracy. In his Junior year, Allison threw for over 1600 yards and 18TDs in just 9 games. Allison had a foot injury that put him in a cast for awhile, but he is already back throwing and should be good to go by the time his senior year comes around.

5’8-180 Sam Bruce: Wide Receiver, St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Rivals: 4-star

247Sports: 4-Star

ESPN: 4-star

Other offers: Alabama, Florida State, Clemson, Florida and many more

Sam Bruce is one of the most talented players in the country and is rated as a top 5 overall receiver by every recruiting site. Despite his 5’8” height, Bruce plays really big. He can go up and catch the ball, but his quickness and agility are what really set him apart. Bruce is one of the most exciting players in the country and is easily the quickest player I’ve watched in person. Before transferring to STA, Bruce attended University School and worked closely with new Canes’ WR Coach, Kevin Beard. Bruce had over 400 yards and 7 TDs as a junior, despite only playing less than a half in most games because they were such blowouts. Sam Bruce incredibly played 3 quarters of the state championship on a broken leg, but should be back to 100% in the next few weeks.

6’0-185 McArthur Burnett: Running Back, Pahokee High School in Pahokee, Florida

Rivals: 3-star

247Sports: 3-Star

ESPN: NR

Other offers: Florida State, Georgia, Louisville

McArthur Burnett is only rated as a three star prospect by some sites, but already has multiple offers, including one from Florida State. The 6′-185 prospect from Pahokee has elite speed and quickness and is electric with the ball in his hands. Burnett can make multiple defenders miss in space and is gone once he accelerates through the hole. Burnett is a complete back and can catch the ball out of the backfield very well. Miami will try to get him the ball in many different ways to use his ability to the fullest. Burnett rushed for over 1,000 yards and 17TDs during his junior year.

5’11-180 Dionte Mullins: Wide Receiver, Gulliver Prep High School in Miami, Florida

Rivals: 4-star

247Sports: 4-Star

ESPN: 4-star

Other offers: Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, and many more

Dionte Mullins is one of the top receivers not only in South Florida, but in the entire country. He is incredibly explosive and is very skilled at route running. Mullins has been nearly impossible to cover whenever I have watched him live in 7-on-7’s and often makes defensive backs look completely lost. Mullins has decent size for a receiver and possesses all the tools needed to be elite at the next level. Both after the catch and on punt returns, Mullins is electric and is very good when he has the ball in space. Mullins also plays corner in high school, where he is very physical and shows great cover skills, but will most likely play WR at the next level. His junior stats have not been released yet.

6’0-200 Amir Rasul: Running Back, Coral Gables High in Miami, Florida

Rivals: 3-star

247Sports: 3-Star

ESPN: 4-star

Other offers: Georgia, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and more

Amir Rasul is regarded as one of the top backs in the state for 2016 because of his size and blazing speed.  Rasul has great size at 6’0-200, but is also a track star. This size, strength, and speed combo has allowed him to become an elite player. Rasul will have to continue working on his vision and patience, but he has all of the physical talent needed to be an elite back at the next level. Rasul rushed for 893 yards and 13 TDs as a junior this past season.

6’2-175 Ahmmon Richards: Wide Receiver, Wellington High School in Wellington, Florida

Rivals: 3-star

247Sports: 4-Star

ESPN: 4-star

Other offers: Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, and many more

Ahmmon Richards is an all-around great receiver. He has excellent size at 6’2+ to go along with great hands and good speed. Richards is excellent at using his height to his advantage and high pointing jump balls. He is one of those receivers that just has a knack for getting open and he knows what to do once he gets the ball in his hands. Richards is a tremendous athlete and is a very good corner as well, but receiver is definitely his best position. Richards had an incredibly productive junior year, finishing with 52 receptions for 1,259yds and 23 TDs along with 5ints and 1 punt return TD.
