This one was actually a really tough one and I spend hours deciding on which list to put it. The 2005 throwback uniforms were a really good idea, and it’s something that you wear once and hope that people have good memories of the past. Except that Miami wasn’t good when they originally wore these — 1965-1970 — and they look WAY too much like Notre Dame uniforms, and that’s never a good thing.
I also spend some time debating on how I feel about the helmet and I totally understand the retro look and how things were completely different back in the 60’s, but damn, how cool is that “U” on the side of the helmet?
Seeing anything other than the “U” just seems weird and I feel like me loving this uniform would make me a cheater, and I don’t like being a cheater.
But like I said, there are a lot of people who like this one, and that’s okay, it’s number 5 on the list so I don’t think it’s completely horrible.
