New Coaches

In the off season, Miami made a few head coach changes due to former ones taking jobs else where. They hired defensive line coach Randy Melvin, Kevin Beard to coach the wide receivers, and moved GA Kareem Brown to OLB/Pass rushing coach.

These two additions to the defense will have some effect. Randy Melvin coached and won a Super Bowl under one of the best coaches in the NFL, Bill Belichick. His NFL experience will do nothing but help. Let’s hope that these so called “changes” will help Melvin get the defensive line in the back field.

Kareem Brown is undoubtedly a players’ coach. Most of them wanted him to take the defensive line position. Yet, Golden moved him to a new position. Now, the pass rushers have a full-time head coach that will work on their technique and power to get in the backfield.

All around these are good moves.  The biggest impact will be the hiring of Kevin Beard. Brennan Carroll did an fair job, but he never played the position. Most fans remember Kevin Beard from the early 2000s. Just take a look what he brings to the table:

He’ll take the wide receivers group to a new level.
