With the way the Golden situation was handled, do you think Blake James’ job should also be in jeopardy?

Juan Toribio: I’m not going to call for anyone’s firing (at least not for now), but I think Blake James’ job should definitely be in jeopardy. I think he handled the last couple of years extremely poorly and was content with average. If James would’ve just demanded Golden to probably get a new defensive coordinator, or if he would’ve just fired him once people completely turned on him, this wouldn’t have been so ugly. James made the right decision, but the timing of it was just off. Hell, I still don’t think it was his decision to fire Golden on Sunday.

Andrew Ferrelli: Although I believe it was the Board of Trustees essentially forcing Blake James to make the move, I do think he should be kept around, but on a short lease. Other than dragging out the Golden Era way longer than he should have, James hasn’t really had many other decisions to make. I think he’ll stick around a little longer and hopefully make the correct choice with this upcoming hire.

Daniel Nordwall: Yes, I think Blake James’ job should be in jeopardy. One reason, in particular, is that he supported Al Golden the day before he got fired. Obviously, the Board of Trustees made the decision for him. I have an issue with this because it means Blake James is satisfied with average. A real athletic director would have fired Al Golden a year ago. However, they made an ludicrous decision by extending Al unto 2020 which handicapped any decisions involved. However, James has shown no leader abilities and I think he should leave too.

Sam Jacobs: Blake James’ job probably is not in jeopardy unless this season becomes as disastrous as last year’s. With that said, he probably should have fired Golden this past offseason.

Shanon Culiner: I’m going to give AD Blake James a pass on this firing. Yes, he should’ve fired Golden last year as clearly the ‘Canes were on a downward spiral. And, with the talent they had produced on that team, it should’ve never happened. However, it wasn’t James who gave Golden his contract extension, I believe, through the 2019 season. And friends or not friends, I understand James wanting to see if Golden was able to get thing on-course, which clearly didn’t happen. Miami should’ve never lost to Cincy and though they fought against FSU, I’m tired of hearing that the ‘Canes can fight. What happened to simply dominating? Nevertheless, James didn’t ignore the smack down to Clemson and canned him mid-year. So, in that respect, he did his job.
