Craig Erickson
Erickson got the start in 1989 and there was no looking back, leading the ‘Canes to a National Championship (1989 season) win against the Alabama Crimson Tide (in the 1990 Sugar Bowl) in his junior year.
Over the 18 games Erickson started, he only lost 2 games.
As one of the ‘Canes historic quarterbacks, over his 4-year tenure at Miami, he threw for 6,056 yards and 46 touchdowns.
Erickson played 7 seasons in the National Football league, notably the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1992-94), Indianapolis Colts (1995) and the Miami Dolphins (1996-97)
He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
