Bernie Kosar
Kosar may be one of the more notable Miami Hurricanes quarterbacks.
Leading the ‘Canes to their first ever National Championship as a redshirt freshman in the 1984 Orange Bowl Classic against the Nebraska Cornhuskers and being named MVP of the game, Kosar pioneered Miami to its prominence.
Kosar only played for two seasons, however within both seasons, he threw for 5,971 and 40 touchdowns.
In 1985, Kosar was drafted first round in the NFL Supplemental Draft by the Cleveland Browns where he played 9 seasons and made a Pro-Bowl (1987). He also played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins (backing-up Dan Marino).
Kosar was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1995 and the UM Football Ring of Honor in 1999.
