Kelly played quarterback at Miami between 1979 to 1982, helping build the program into a college football powerhouse.
During his time at Miami, Kelly had a record of 30-15, threw for 5,228 yards and 33 touchdowns.
Kelly went on to have one of the best professional careers out of any Hurricanes quarterback.
Though Kelly started out his professional career as a two-time MVP with the USFL’s, Houston Gamblers (1984-1985), he later joined the Buffalo Bills (after the USFL folded).
At Buffalo, Kelly was a five-time Pro-Bowler and reached the Super Bowl four-times consecutively.
Kelly was inducted to the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1992, inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2002 and inducted into the UM Football Ring of Honor in 2008.
