Ray Lewis

Arguably one of the greatest individuals to ever play football, Lewis played at Miami from 1993 to 1995.

He was both a natural born leader and fiercely intimidating. As a Hurricane, Lewis was a two-time First-Team All-American and named All-BIG EAST (1994 & 1995).

With a year of eligibility left, Lewis was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round (26th overall).

He led the defense and may pretty much be the main reason the Ravens had won two Super Bowl Championships (XXXV & XLVII).

During his 17 seasons for the Ravens, Lewis made the Pro Bowl thirteen-times, was a seven-time First-Team All-Pro, two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, a Super Bowl MVP and two-time NFL Alumni Linebacker of the Year.

Lewis was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2006 and we’ll be awaiting his induction into the Pro-Football Hall of Fame (amongst many other honors) sometime in the near future.

Dan Morgan

Morgan played at Miami from 1997 to 2000 and became the first freshman to start at linebacker since Ray Lewis.

At The U, Morgan was a three-time First-Team BIG EAST selection and in his senior season (2000), he was a unanimous First-Team All-American and earned some serious honors including a: Bronco Nagurski Trophy, Dick Butkus Award and Chuck Bednarik Award. In addition, that year he was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year.

Morgan was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the first round (11th overall) and played with them for 7 seasons.

In 2004, he was selected for the Pro Bowl and had All-Pro honors.

Morgan was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
