Offensive Tackles

Bryant McKinnie

McKinnie was a force of nature at Miami on the offensive line.

He transferred to UM from Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania and became a back-to-back First-Team All-American in 2000 and 2001, helping the ‘Canes win a National Championship in 2001.

During his senior season, he won the Outland Trophy and Jim Parker Award.

McKinnie was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round (7th overall) where he had a streak of 80 consecutive games starting and went to the Pro Bowl in 2009. He played in the NFL  for 13 seasons.

McKinnie was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.

Leon Searcy

Searcy played for the ‘Canes from 1987 to 1991 and was a part of three National Championships (’87, ’89, ’91). What’s even more amazing, he hadn’t missed a start in his last 3 seasons at Miami.

In his senior season, Searcy was a First-Team All-American (FWAA) and an All-BIG EAST First-Team selection.

He was drafted in the first round (11th overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers and played in the NFL for eleven seasons with teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl in both 1996 and 1997.

Searcy was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
