Running Back, #23 Gerard Wicks
It looks like Wicks plays the role of “work horse” in the Washington State backfield.
Though it looks like Wazzu struggles a bit in the running game (or maybe they don’t utilize it too much), Wicks has the most carries with 102 attempts and has rushed for a net of 599 yards and 3 touchdowns. That’s an average of 5.9 yards per attempt and 49.9 yards per game.
As a team, WSU averages only 79.9 rushing yards a game. That’s some relief for a ‘Canes team that has given up an average of 211.2 yards per game this season.
That’s right, if you don’t already know, Miami has struggled tremendously against the run.
Wicks is a redshirt sophomore who was a 3-star recruit out of Long Beach, CA.
He’s listed at 6’0″ and 224 pounds.
Next: Wide Receiver, #80 Dom Williams
