You had no idea the University of Miami offered academic classes.

According to U.S. News and World Report, the University of Miami ranks No. 51 nationally. Not bad, but not the best.

Unless you’re from the area, you may know that the small, private UM is a pretty solid school academically.

But, let’s be honest. Its sports’ program dominates the media and tabloids. And, its rich football tradition (for good and for bad) is what’s known throughout the country.

Until UM can be responsible for curing some serious diseases or develop a drink filled with electrolytes or pops out a few future presidents, it will always take a backseat to its athletics.
