You still have no idea what option, zone-read and spread football means.

You may’ve seen option football with Georgia Tech (in the ACC), but most teams in the ACC, including Miami play a pro-style of football.

In fact, even in the early 80’s when option football still prospered (and powerhouses like Nebraska and Oklahoma were using it), it was the ‘Canes who proved that a pro-style offense was the way to be most efficient.

Year after year we see many teams and coaches use the newly popular spread, zone-read style such as: Oregon (Mark Helfrich), Arizona (Rich Rodriguez), Ohio State (Urban Meyer) and Dan Mullen (Mississippi State).

But many of us ‘Canes still find it just a bit hokey.
