Quarterbacks

One of the more compelling stories heading into fall camp is not only the progression of Kaaya but the backup quarterback position. The battle lies between Malik Rosier, who played a great game last year’s game at Duke, and redshirt freshman, Evan Sheriffs.

In the spring, Rosier decided to quit baseball in order to focus entirely on football. He struggled to pick up Richt’s offense. Sheriffs had a better showing due to his ability to stay in the pocket. This battle will be interesting to watch during fall camp.

Kaaya finished 2015 leading the Atlantic Coast Conference in passing yards. He added 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. Kaaya needs to assert himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. Kaaya is likely to be a top ten pick in next year’s NFL draft.  He will have some help from some explosive weapons at the wide receiver position.
